TEN RULES OF BUSINESS
Hello!
Have you ever wondered how there are so many people in business but still at the same level wealth wise? This thing has been bothering me a lot such that I had to take time and spy most businesses. I am sorry I had to use the word spy, but it has helped me to identify where most business people mess up and I have come up with ten golden rules to business.
- 1. When business is tough, it is not time to borrow money, it is time to contemplate. Use the pressure as a catalyst for innovation. Review processes; don’t spend more money to make no money. If identified and solved, the problem will bring you even more money and increase your understanding of your business. So look at challenges as opportunities to grow, not as a threat.
- 2. Marketing is like a seed. In order to harvest, you need to plant your seed today. Plant your idea into the customer's mind and water it with the benefits of using your product of services everyday indirectly. To push a customer to buy is to push them away, let them be attracted by your energy and enthusiasm towards your own products and services, people need time to make a decision to buy, a teacher only appears when the student is ready.
- 3. Everything is hard at first: Believe in what you are doing and it will blossom into something big and better. Don’t listen take the advice you didn’t ask for, your brain is sufficient and you are wise enough, trust your gut. Have you ever failed to cross a road despite how busy it is? If not then trust yourself to be capable of making the right decisions in your business.
- 4. No one sells profitable businesses: A good business opportunity will only be seen by you, not another person. Becoming successful is also staying away from bad business opportunities, the market is flooded with them watch out. My litmus test for this is if it chases me it's not an opportunity.
- 5. Be honest and kind: Do not cheat people, when you cheat customers, you cheat yourself, when you lie to them, you lie to yourself.
Business is the accumulation of goodwill. The people you interact with are going to talk about you, so do not give them a chance to talk ill about you, it is best they talk good about you.
- 6. Business takes time: Whatever business you start, expect to be successful in 5 ten 10 years. During this process, you will meet all kinds of difficulties. If you withstand, you will be rich in your fifth year and a millionaire in your 10th. Don’t expect to be rich overnight; you will notice yourself growing steadily. Enjoy the journey and live life in the meantime and enjoy the present. Be graceful as you suffer, you will be proud to look at the attitude you held one day.
- 7. You don’t need money to do business: Money is refined energy. If you find that you don’t have money then what you have is a raw energy to work with. You will have to go the long way round to start a business. Say you want to sell clothes but have no capital? Then you sell other people’s clothes and get a cut. ‘I don't have money’ is just an excuse for the lazy. Where there is a will there is a way.
- 8. Keepsomething, Keep anything: To be rich, you need to keep something from your hustles. That is the only way. What counts is what you keep. It does not matter whether you make billions, so long you spend it all, you are not a billionaire, and you are not going anywhere.
This is a challenge I personally have but I know it’s a golden rule. They say saving a million can take you ten years but whether you save or not, ten years time will still pass, so it is better you are a millionaire by then.
- 9. Give and you will receive abundantly: Give money, give energy, be of help at funerals, donate to the homeless and your name and business will build a good reputation. I personally don’t have money to dish out but I give free valuable books and it pays back through engagement and referrals. If someone reads about a business strategy and applies it and it works, they recommend their niece who needs a business plan or their nephew who wants his assignment written to me. People will always return a favour one way or the other.
- 10. Don’t work for money: Work to become an unshakable individual. There are many types of riches and the best you will find is to find yourself and release your potential. Ever since I started this blog, I have come to learn that we are all the same but circumstances and the way we thin make us different. People are beautiful, people are funny and people are wise.
I guess that sums it up. I hope these ten golden rules to business will be able to make a difference in your business. It is not always easy to change from what you are already used to, to something new. But if you want to make it big, then it is time you challenge yourself with the question, ‘DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?’ if you do, adopting the ten golden rules of business should be a piece of cake.
